Highwinds Brings Latest Data Center in Amsterdam Online Global Switch Amsterdam Data Center is the Second European Content Hub to Connect
WINTER PARK, Fla. - June 27, 2007 - Highwinds Network Group, Inc., a global provider of content distribution solutions, today announced that it has completed the build-out of its data center facility in Amsterdam, the newest city to come online in Highwinds RollingThunder™ content delivery network. The extensive Internet-based content delivery server and storage plant is located at a data center facility operated by Global Switch, a leading provider of purpose-built high-specification data centers. The new state-of-the-art data center in Amsterdam, one of two rolled out in Europe this quarter, serves as a critical content hub for Highwinds. The modern data center facility features the latest in 24x7 fire and security protection, durable and diverse power supplies including a direct power plant connection and full power backup, and environmental controls that ensure proper cooling. It is designed to minimize IT disruption and maximize business continuity for Highwinds and its customers. Connected by 40 Gbps uplinks to Highwinds' RollingThunder network, content housed and distributed from Highwinds' servers at Global Switch is instantly available throughout Europe and elsewhere in the world.
